Maureen Halahan, President & CEO of the Orange County Partnership has announced that Michael J. Sullivan has been named its Director of Business Attraction.

“Mike has the knowledge and experience and limitless energy for this demanding sales and marketing position and I am thrilled he is interested in being a member of Orange County’s economic development team,” Maureen Halahan stated. “Mike makes no secret of his love for Orange County. What many people don’t know about Mike is that he has personally trained many of the region’s economic development professionals.” To this day, his advice and opinion are often sought regarding complex real estate projects.

Mike has served as the Executive Director of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, and has extensive marketing experience through his work at the Times Herald Record, R.J. Smith Realty and the Irwin Siegel Agency. From 1997-2004 Mike headed the Sullivan County Office of Economic Development during which time that office was rated as one of the best economic development organizations in the Hudson Valley.
In 2009, Mike was retained by the Arden & Horton Local Development Corporations to sell the soon-to-be-vacated hospitals. Both buildings were sold on time and above the asking price and because of his efforts, a Touro Medical School will be opening in the County and the Orange-Ulster BOCES will be able to expand its educational service, especially for special needs students.

Most recently, Mike has led the economic development efforts in Pike County, Pennsylvania, moving properties that lied dormant for several years.
